Youth Empowerment Summer Academy

The Greenmount East Leadership Project will host a summer Youth Empowerment Academy consisting of two types of programming: Exploration and Foundation. Exploration helps each youth develop their unique interests through exposure to activities, lifestyles, and careers beyond those in their immediate environment. Through consistent and varied exposure, youth will have the opportunity to discover and foster sustainable sources of happiness and joy. Foundation complements Exploration by equipping each youth with a set of daily habits aimed at maximizing physical/mental energy and emotional self-awareness. 

By building and reinforcing these habits, Foundation programming will enable youth to steadily work towards their own self-identified goals, be they personal or professional. Combined, Exploration and Foundation provide the core guiding principles for youth as they learn to navigate adult life. By leveraging the natural human instincts of curiosity and habit, youth will leave the summer program feeling empowered to design and direct their own lives. The Youth Empowerment Academy will help youth participants develop their own sense of direction in life, as well as the daily habits which will carry them steadily toward their chosen goals.
